Candy Silk has been singing since age 8 in church then as a child star of Sound Systems Studio Mix and King Jammys. Candy recalls having to stand on boxes to reach the mike !! In '94 Candy Silk entered Tastee's, Jamaica's famous talent show , she won Best Dressed Artist and valuable studio time. The following year Candy Silk collaborated with Captain Barkey on Black Scorpio Sound. Since then Candy Silk has won numerous awards for her sensational voice.
Candy Silk has recorded for various producers including Ras Blingaz, Digitec Prod, Major Grumpy and Starvybz and I Spy Sound System. Her track 'My Daughter' dedicated to her beloved daughter earned her significant recognition and she followed up with big hits 'Keep it on the Level' and 'Bag Wire'. Candy's unique vocal style and bubbly vivacious character light up any stage and she is a regular on the circuit. Able to sing Gospel, Roots and Culture, Dancehall , Reggae and Lovers Rock her talent is truly versatile.
Candy Silk has performed at world famous Brixton 02 Academy alongside Marcia Griffiths and Morgan Heritage as well as performimg at Hootananny and Ritzy Brixton amongst others and Candy has performed with numerous Artists including Wickerman, Susan Cadogan, Rudie Irie, Hya P, General Saint, Paulette Tajah, Klearview Harmonix, Dennis Pinnock, Winnie and Freddie, Oska 10 Star, Ras Charmer, Sista Ruby, Trilla Jenna, Winston Francis and all the Shining Stars Artists.
